THE FIX FOR SIX: No More Camden Swamp

The standing water and overgrown grass on Hole Six at Camden will soon be a thing of the past.

According to Dave Pannell, Milan Street Superintendent, crews will spend most of Tuesday, Sept. 18 digging trenches and hauling out dirt.

"There are two springs down there," says Pannell. "We're digging two trenches from those springs to a main trench that will connect to the creek." The main trench will be 2-1/2 feet wide and filled with 2-inch crushed rock. This will be covered with tar paper and then backfilled with dirt.

"After the guys finish digging the trench today, we'll need to wait a few days to let it dry out," says Pannell. The project is expected to be wrapped up by Friday.

During the work, caution tape will be up to warn disc golfers of the trench. Other than that, no restrictions are in place for course play.
