Quad Cities Disc
Golf Club
Minutes
Sept 19th 2007
The
meeting was called to order by John Resch at 6:00
with a quorum present.
Committee Reports:
Treasury: John reported that the current balance of the
club’s account is $3896.91. The Devil’s Glen tournament raised $1,040 that went
towards paying off the Bettendorf Debt. For a full report contact John.
Bettendorf Parks Improvement:
John met with Steve Grimes to discuss the status of debt
owed to the city of Bettendorf. In the initial grant it was promised that the
QCDGC would pay approx. $9,400 with equipment, labor, and cash. To date, we
still owe approx. $2,000 towards that debt. John will be meeting with Steve
again in the future to see if that figure can be negotiated down with the final
details for the Hollowview installment. There was
also a discussion about future hole sponsorships at
Middle, Devils Glen, and Hollowview, and possible
options for signs and terms of sponsorships; one idea being that the sponsorships
would only last for a year, following that time the sponsor could keep their
sign. This allows the club to have continual revenue from the courses.
Camden 2:
Milan has committed $20,000 towards the project, and
discussed the possibility to have the course installed during the fall of ‘07.
Therefore, a final walk-thru with the park board and club members interested in
helping with the design is being scheduled.
Camden Chaos:
The date for this tourny will be
October 20th, with a tournament committee meeting scheduled at Chase’s on
September 26th. All parties interested in the format and hole
design should attend.
New business:
There was a lengthy discussion concerning membership time
frames. Currently club memberships last one year from the
date of joining. We voted on and approve to change memberships to the
calendar year of Jan 1st to Dec 31st. Details on how to roll peoples
memberships over to the new system will be discussed at the next meeting.
Brad E. wants to start a private forum on the QCDGC
website that only committee members would have access to, to discuss committee
issues. This idea was approved, and the forum is up and running. If you would
like to join a committee, contact Brad via the website and you will be given
access to the site.
K.C. brought up the idea of possibly running a trivia
night as means for a fundraiser. Phil Dodds is going
around to local high schools to help establish intramural disc golf leagues.
John would like to have a vote regarding a change in the quorum
requirements from 6 to 5 officers; this will be voted upon at next meeting.
Tomorrow, Sept 20th, Maceman
will be in town running a doubles event.
There being no new business, the meeting was adjourned at
7:24. The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 23rd, at 7 pm with the location
TBA.
Respectfully submitted,
Kelly Welch
